Indications for Chiro Care for Small Animals

Whether your pet is fuzzy, furry, feathery, or scaly chiropractic can benefit animals of all ages and sizes. We want to help every pet achieve a life of optimal health and well-being. Many everyday issues can be helped by chiropractic care. The lists below show many indicators that your animal loved ones may be a perfect candidate for chiropractic treatments. Plus - meet some of our animal family! 

General Issues:

  • Dog ain’t doing right (ADR)

  • Change in attitude

  • Behavioral changes

  • Dog does not want to run and play

  • Performance problems.

  • Anal gland problems

  • Urinary or fecal incontinence

Jaw and Eating Issues:

  • Refusal to eat hard food or treats

  • Not playing with toys

  •  Decrease in bite work

  •  Will not open mouth to full extent

Head and Neck Issues:

  • Neck pain; these dogs sometimes scream in pain

  • Decreased motion of neck 

  • Animal may appear to have one eye or ear higher than the other

  • Ear sensitivity, ear infections

  • Head shaking, flopping ears

  •  Head tilt

Issues with Limbs and Movement:

  • Forelimb lameness

  • Decreased fore limb extension.

  • Pain in affected limb

  • Decreased range of motion in affected joints

  • Gait abnormalities.

  • Rear leg lameness

  • Rear limb ataxia.

  • Puppy sitting - Inability to sit square

Always check the toenails to be sure they are properly trimmed. Toenails that are too 
long can affect all aspects of the limb, the dog’s gait and its spinal posture.

Issues with Spine and Movement:

  • Dog will not track correctly

  • Muscle spasms

  • Hesitant or inability to jump

  • Dropped shoulder

  •  Tucked tail head, tail pain, resistance to tail

  • Difficulty lowering the head to the ground
